our class offerings

Babies : 0 – 10 mo

You might be wondering what your newborn could possibly take away from a music class and how old they have to be before they can benefit. At Music Together®, we know it’s never too early to get babies started in class! Your little one is a natural-born music-maker, ready to start learning music at birth.

In the Music Together Babies class, for infants from birth through 10 months, you’ll learn a lot of fun musical activities for babies. You’ll also learn to recognize which of your baby’s behaviors are musical so that you can support their development at the time when your baby’s brain is at its most receptive.

The Babies class has other benefits, too! Singing and dancing with your baby is a beautiful way for the two of you to bond. And making music with other parents of newborns is a great way to make new friends in your community who are as sleep deprived as you.

Mixed Ages : 3 – 5 yo

Essential Music Together class, one that children attend from birth – 5, through all nine song collections. Child development researchers recommend mixed-age groupings because they foster natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because children in the family can go to class together. Each child participates at their own level singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, and exploring instruments.

The class provides a variety of adult-child activities that are fun and offer new ways to play musically at home. Parents, grandparents, or nanny, individually or together, may accompany children. The whole family is welcome for this important music experience.

Rhythm Kids : 4* – 9*

Big kids know what they like. Telling silly stories. Playing games. Being in charge. Designed specifically for pre-K and early elementary students, our active Rhythm Kids classes for big kids tap into how children this age are wired to learn, with music games, animal rhythm stories, and lots of stomping-flying-climbing fun.

Rhythm Kids is just the thing to get your child excited and willing to start making music with their friends. By the end of the semester, they’ll be proud to show off what they’ve learned: to you, their friends and teachers, and—let’s face it—for some kids, every person they meet.

*** – The age would be dependent on the child and the settings they are in. Some 4 year olds may be ready, and our Rhythm Kids Level 2 can even accommodate through second grade.
